The book cover for the second book followed the theme set by that of the first book. The image is entitled "The Looking-Glass" and was designed using Photoshop Elements. It represents the fact that the time and space that we aware of, and that we believe we measure, are actually illusory products of something more fundamental.

It has been pointed out to me that both the title and the chessboard suggest a connection with Lewis Carroll. The novel Through the Looking-Glass was a sequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865), and published on 27 December 1871 by Carroll, a mathematics lecturer at the University of Oxford. The Red Queen's chessboard plays a key part in that novel, but any connections here are purely coincidental.
